I don't think they're really any louder than the stock tires, it's just a lower pitched sound. They still have great wet traction and you have to push them to get to their slipping point. Its dynamic and sturdy construction gives your vehicle an attractive and powerful style. Meanwhile, Grabber ATX models are bigger and thicker, with more extensive blocks and grooves. This style perfects your vehicle with a luxurious and beautiful look. They'll lose traction on wet pavement easier than the stock tires, but not in a way that worries me. KO2 sports an innovative design with thinner and smaller grooves and blocks. That was thousands of miles ago and it's held up perfectly.Įdit to add: I should probably also say that they've been great on pavement, too. After the razor blade, I took it to the tire shop to have it inspected for safety, and they said it was perfectly fine. The same tire took two nails and a razor blade in the same week and it didn't go flat. I've also had them in ~6 inches of snow and they rode like rails. Although bulky shoulders help in steering yet overall traction is not good. Grabber AT2 Dry grip is reduced due to lesser surface area of tread in contact with road. Its deep and broad grooves reduce contact patch. They've been good in everything from mud to sand to rocky Colorado Jeep trails. General Grabber AT2 loses the competition in terms of on road performance. But the grabbers are still a great tire and everyone who has them loves them, so they'd be a great option if you want to spend less now. If anyone else has experience with this great tire, I'd love to hear about it.The KO2s are probably the better tire and they'll probably last longer, so they'd be worth the price difference imo.

Great job, General! I hope this review helps knock a few people off the fence! The ATx is fantastic, it's made in the USA, they run a little less money, & they have taken my truck over or thru anything I have the cajones to point it at. I have to admit, as impressive as the KO2's are, General has won themselves a new customer. These tires have really impressed me with outstanding traction, & the ride of my Frontier has improved a bit (maybe it's in my head). I love exploring, & Oregon has a TON of different terrain. I am not a hardcore bogger or crawler, but I'm no "softroader" either. Offroad is where they really start to shine. They are suprisingly quiet on pavement, & cornering & braking performance is just fine. Objects are deflected away to protect penetration into the sidewall.

A series of deflection ribs protects the upper sidewall area. Grabber X3 offers aggressive styling and is engineered for durability with innovative performance features. What I did buy (& wanted) was a set of jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none all-terrain tires. General Tire’s mud-terrain tire line delivers outstanding off-road performance, coupled with strong street manners. I didn't buy an all-season, & don't expect all-season levels of quiet. I didn't buy a mud tire, so I don't expect a mud tires performance. They have been offroad nearly every weekend since I bought them. They have seen sun, rain, ice, snow, & mud. I have around 1,500 miles on the Grabber ATx's now. Since this truck is my daily, & I live in western Oregon.General was starting to make a louder argument for themselves. The KO2 seems to clear mud from the lugs a little better, & the ATx seems to clear water from the lugs better than the KO2. In the included picture, the BFG is on the right, the General on the left.

The thing that caught my eye was some reviewers said they lasted longer, & were even quieter on the road. I read some reviews, & the Grabber ATx was highly rated. You will find the other size tires in other load range ratings. Designed to balance exceptional off-road capability with on-road performance and aggressive styling, this tire comes complete with Duragen Technology, which provides robust strength and durability. This means you can count on long-lasting tread life from your new all-terrain tires from General Tire. Thanks to its computer-optimized tread design, Grabber A/TX tires dont just work on the rough stuffthey also resist uneven treadwear. Size and Rating General Grabber ATX is offered in 40 different sizes. The Grabber A/TX is an aggressive, all-season all-terrain tire for light trucks and SUVs. General Grabber ATX Treadwear and Warranty. It has made the sidewalls of the tire 20 tougher than before. I had been running BFG's T/A KO2 tires, & they were a very good all-around tire also. The only technology that we came to know about KO2 is the defeating race-proven Care Guard technology.

I have searched the forum a bit, & haven't come across much on this new(ish) tire.so, here goes.
